Adventurers

Adventurers (Foundation and Key Stage 1 & 2) meet on Sunday mornings at 10.30am in All Saints Parish Hall, Frindsbury joining the church service at around 11.20am for communion. There are 25 children on roll, aged 4 to 11. Attendance fluctuates but is on average 15 children each week. Scripture Union ‘Light’ resources are usually used, although other materials are used as well or instead of this on occasions. There are also occasional other events such as Praise Parties, Christmas Crafts, etc organised for the children.

Kids Church

Kids Church is a fast moving programme of singing, games, prayers, bible stories, puppets, drama, teaching, quizzes and competitions. Each term we have a theme - with a secret code known only to our KIDS. Each child gets a visit to their home during the week by a leader who says HI and gives them a 'flier' with news of what's on and quizzes and competitions. It is held at Bishop Gundulph Church, every saturday in term time, 10am to 11:30am, all kids aged 6 to 11, best news is that it is free!

Not so Serious Stuff              A young man was a slow worker and found it difficult to hold down a job. After a visit to the employment office, he was offered work at the local zoo. When he arrived for his first day, the keeper, aware of his reputation, told him to take care of the tortoise section.   Later, the keeper dropped by to see how the young man was doing and found him standing by an empty enclosure.   "Where are the tortoises?" he asked.   "I can't believe it", said the new employee,  "I just opened the gate and whoooosh, they were gone!"

During the "children's sermon", the minister was talking about Communion and what it is all about. "The Bible talks of Holy Communion being a 'joyful feast'. What does that mean? Well, 'joyful' means happy, right? And a feast is a meal.  So a 'joyful feast' is a happy meal". He paused. "And what are the three things we need for a happy meal?"  A little boy put up his hand and said, "Hamburger, fries and a regular soft drink?"

A minister, known for his lengthy sermons, noticed a man get up and leave during the middle of his sermon and return just before the end. After the service, the minister asked the man, 'Why did you get up and leave during my sermon?', to which the man replied, 'I needed a haircut'. The minister asked, 'Why didn't you do that before the service?', 'Because', the man replied, 'I didn't need one then'
