The
recent Youth Service Doing and Living Jesus Style was really special.. We
were fortunate enough to have a fantastic lady
called Amanda Lord speak to us. Amanda has written a book about her truly inspiring
experiences of finding God, in the most difficult of situations, and
agreed to come and tell us about her experiences. This was an
amazing opportunity for us to hear from someone with such an
incredible story to tell.
Amanda has a book entitled 'Search for a Father' in bookshops for
£7.99.
The true story of Amanda Lord, one of five sisters who all had
different fathers, it details her search for her missing father and
much more.

 'The
search for her earthly father is not some Hollywood tale but
more like climbing up the north face of a mountain, with an ice-cold
blizzard in your face trying to stop you from feeling the sunshine
at the top. Read this book and you will find another hero as I have
done.'
Martin Smith, Delirious?
One of five sisters, all of whom had different fathers, Amanda had a
terrible start in life. Brought up with a warped idea of family
values, men and sex, she was abused and raped and entered into
damaging relationships and drugs as a result. This story could have
ended tragically when Amanda was just 21, but at her lowest ebb, she
met someone, who changed her whole life.
Amanda's story continues with the heart-rending search for her
father, and her personal journey to emotional healing.
'Amanda's compelling story, about the tragedy of a life filled
with the heartache of unrequited love, and the search for love that
will not abuse or neglect, will inspire you to live a life worth
living.
